IIoT-Enabled Current/Electrical Signature Analysis

Electrical signature analysis is a non-intrusive condition monitoring technique for electrical and mechanical equipment.

MCSA App

MCSA and ESA

Electrical signature analysis helps assess power quality and faults in electrical and mechanical components by measuring current and voltage signals. It can provide health status for drives, motors, and driven equipment such as pumps and compressors.

ESA is especially suitable when equipment is difficult to access for instrumentation, including environments where installing sensors directly on machinery is hazardous, inaccessible, or requires shutdown.

How It Is Done

Non-Intrusive Capture

Data acquisition typically happens at the motor control center, often at a safe distance from the machine.

Electrical Measurements

Current transformers and voltage probes capture the electrical signals used for motor and load diagnostics.

Fault Assessment

Current and voltage signatures are analyzed for signatures linked to electrical, mechanical, and driven-equipment faults.

IIoT Integration

Collected signals can feed monitoring apps, dashboards, and analytics pipelines for remote analysis.
